About the Programme:
COVID-19 has brought the debate concerning the role of international health regulations at the centre stage. While there are varied issues such as accessibility to healthcare, affordability and consolidating the operating procedures to deal with a disease, equity has emerged as one of the major concerns in recent times. The interface between law and science is another critical area where more attention is an urgent requirement. Engaging with these areas is indispensable now because the line between jurisdictional responses and international health regulations is becoming very thin.
The webinar, organised conjointly by Marwadi University and Weera Centre, thus sought to explore the scenario through roping in voices from major organisations like the World Health Organisation and the Third World Network.
